This has been a week/weekend. I just feel like I have been pulled in 20 different directions, and the stress of this time of the school year with testing is starting to wear on me. Throw in that Marty and Lorraine had a tussle that got a little too rough and now Lorraine has an abscess on her chin, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to do the Junto this week.
I know that one doesn’t have to compose every week, but I am of the opinion that if I am teaching students to produce music, I need to produce of my own, and the Junto projects at least give me some guidelines but freedom so I like it.
This week the project was to take the wind chime track from last week, and remix it. So I used the sampler in Ableton to pull out snippets, and used them to reflect the chaotic state of mind I have felt the last week. We had to include the original bell track for at least part of the project in its original state.
